Krafton has officially confirmed that the Version 4.2 update will roll out tomorrow, followed shortly by a special crossover with the popular TV series Peaky Blinders. This back-to-back release is set to bring fresh gameplay, visual changes, and stylish new content to the battlegrounds.
PUBG Mobile x Peaky Blinders Collaboration
The Peaky Blinders event will go live on January 9, just days after the main update. Once the event starts, players can expect a strong 1920s gangster vibe across the game.
According to the teaser, players should be ready for themed outfits inspired by the Shelby family. Characters based on Thomas Shelby are expected, along with classic long coats, formal suits, and vintage styling. The famous flat cap is also likely to appear as a high-tier cosmetic item.
Apart from outfits, the event may include special missions, limited-time rewards, themed voice lines, and possibly small map changes that reflect the dark streets of Birmingham. While full details are still secret, the collaboration promises a serious style upgrade for PUBG Mobile fans.
PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update: Primewood Genesis
Before the Peaky Blinders event begins, the Version 4.2 update titled Primewood Genesis will arrive on January 7, 2026.
This update brings a nature-focused theme that changes how parts of the map look and play.
The Primewood Genesis mode introduces giant world trees, glowing roots, and plant-covered areas across Erangel. Popular locations like Pochinki and Yasnaya Polyana are redesigned with overgrown structures, creating tight combat zones and new hot drop areas.
New vehicles are also part of the update. The Scorpion is a ground vehicle built for surprise movement, while the Guardian Deer offers fast travel across the altered terrain.
Weapon balance also sees changes. In the themed mode, the Honey Badger gains a special ability that can restore health after knocking enemies, making aggressive gameplay more rewarding.
Players will also face new PvE threats such as Guardian Flowers, plant-based enemies that protect valuable loot.
New Royale Pass and Ranked Season
Along with Update 4.2, a new ranked season will begin. The A17 Royale Pass is expected to launch shortly after the update, likely around January 11.
