It was on Sunday, India’s PV Sindhu created history by winning the bronze medal match against her opponent He Bing Jiao from China at the Tokyo Olympics. She won the important match with scores of 21-13,21-15 by making herself the first Indian woman to win two individual Olympic medals. It was previously PV Sindhu lost in the final of the women’s singles event in the 2016 Rio Olympics and attained a silver medal in the end.

After losing the semi-final on Saturday to Tai Tzu-Ying, the match looked very one-sided. So, it was necessary for PV Sindhu in a positive manner to keep herself confident in the bronze medal against Bing Jiao from China. PV Sindhu was looking dominant as she took a lead of4-0 in the first game. But her Chinese opponent Bing Jiao never gave up easily and waited for her to make errors.

The match was beginning to become more intense between the two as Bing Jiao got the points with her angled return and pushes the score back to 5-5. The Chinese opponent never let India’s PV Sindhu play her power game but made she made her way out. The unforced error from the Chinese opponent aided PV Sindhu’s along the way.

Sindhu had another superb rally with a cross-court smash and entered the interval with another down the line at the hit 11-8.

India’s PV Sindhu started to bridge the gap even further by getting three more points after the break-in her opening as her opponent went wide. PV Sindhu continued to show her aggressive game even after she changed sides, she was guided by her coach named Park Tae-Sang from the sidelines and took a lead of 4-1 with a cross-court return.

PV Sindhu did not let the advantage over her opponent slip by and she managed to grab five points with another trademark smash of her and Bing Jiao went wide, she showed disbelief before letting out a cry of victory.
