The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is all set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. With all ten teams working on their strategies, this auction could be the biggest in IPL’s history.
Over time, wrist spinners have become crucial in the IPL. Even though batters have dominated recent seasons, skilled wrist spinners continue to make an impact, even on batter-friendly pitches.
One such spinner is Rahul Chahar. Though his recent form hasn’t been exceptional, his experience and past performances make him a valuable pick. Chahar has played 78 IPL matches, taking 75 wickets with an economy of 28.55. Last season, he featured in nine matches for Punjab Kings and will likely have a bigger role this year.
Here are three teams that could target Rahul Chahar in the auction:
1. Chennai Super Kings

2. Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians (MI) might bring back Rahul Chahar, who performed well for them in the past. In 2019, he took 13 wickets with an economy rate of just 6.55. He played an essential role in helping MI win back-to-back titles, taking 15 wickets in 2020.
Even though Wankhede Stadium often produces high-scoring matches, Chahar’s control and experience with MI might make him a strong candidate to return to the franchise.
3. Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals (RR) recently released Yuzvendra Chahal, leaving a gap in their spin department. Chahar could be an ideal replacement, especially with his familiarity with the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Having grown up playing cricket in Rajasthan, Chahar knows the local conditions well, making him a great fit for the Royals.
