The Rajshahi Royals were a Twenty20 cricket team from Bangladesh. The team is from Bangladesh and was based in Rajshahi. They play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a Twenty20 franchise cricket league. Rajshahi Royals is a franchisee involved with the Bangladesh Premier League. The first time a franchise from Rajshahi played in the league was in 2011, and after the second edition of the league, this franchise was suspended by BCB. They came back in 2016 with a new look, management, and owners.

Since 2016, they have been a regular part of the BPL as the Rajshahi Royals BPL franchise, but their performances haven’t been good enough, and they were knocked out of the league stage. For BPL 2019-20, a special version of a league called Bangabandhu BPL, the Rajshahi Royals have two new sponsors: IPC and Mind Tree, which is known in the country as an entity of the Bengal Group. Some changes will be made to how the Rajshahi royals are run in the BPL 2019-2020 season. This will help them improve their play and try to get into the playoffs.

Rajshahi Royals Records:

In 2012-13, Tamim Iqbal led the team. However, he, Moeen Ali, and Sean Ervine failed to advance past the playoffs. After the league’s second season, all teams were suspended. The Rajshahi Kings had new ownership and management before the 2016/17 season. In the 2016/17 season, the Kings lost to the Dhaka Dynamites in the final. They replaced Sabbir Rahman with Mushfiqur Rahim for the 2017/18 season. They had Luke Wright, Lendl Simmons, and Mustafizur Rahman, but they finished sixth that season.

Rajshahi Royals Achievements:

  • Rajshahi won 7 of their first 10 matches and finished first in the Bangladesh Premier League. They lost to Barisal Burners in the semi-final after a great run.
  • After defeating Chittagong Vikings in the eliminator and Khulna Titans in the 2nd qualifier, the kings reached the 2017/18 final. Dhaka Dynamites defeated them in the final.
  • Bangabandhu BPL 2019-20 Rajshahi Royals have won the particular BPL season, which will be remembered for a long time. Andre Russell led his team to victory through his fantastic leadership, batting, and contribution to the ball. Rajshahi Royals have a well-deserved BPL 2019-20 winner, and they indeed played like a CHAMPION team though out the BPL 2019-20.
