Mumbai opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has asked the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to switch from Mumbai to Goa for the next season. The MCA said he made this request for personal reasons.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Seeks NOC for Mumbai to Goa Switch
According to a report by the Indian Express, a source from the MCA said, “He has sought a NOC from us and has cited that the reason for his move to Goa as personal.” The report also mentioned that people close to Jaiswal have confirmed his decision to move from Mumbai to Goa.
This is a big move for the 23-year-old cricketer, especially since Goa recently reached the knockout stages. Yashasvi Jaiswal is following the path of players like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad, who also played for Goa.
Impressive First-Class Record and National Team Call-Up
Last season, Yashasvi Jaiswal played for Mumbai because the Indian board required players to take part in domestic matches when there were no international games. He played a Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir, scoring 4 and 26 runs.
Earlier this year, even though Jaiswal was not picked for India’s Champions Trophy squad, he was named as a non-traveling substitute. In February, he was also added to Mumbai’s Ranji squad for their semifinal against Vidarbha but missed the match due to an ankle injury.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, a Mumbai player since his U-19 days, gained fame with a Vijay Hazare Trophy double century. In 36 First-Class matches, he has 3,712 runs at 60.85, including 13 centuries and a top score of 265.
His strong domestic form earned him an India call-up. He impressed in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, scoring 391 runs in five Tests at 43.44, with one century and two fifties.
