Rashid Khan has quit as the captain of Afghanistan’s cricket team. The cricket star has revealed the reason behind his resignation as captain, on social media.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board announced their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, yesterday. Rashid Kahn was named the captain of the squad.

However, in a tweet, the player has expressed his feeling towards the team selection. As a captain of the team, the player feels, he reserves the right to be a part of the selection of the team. Rashid also claims that the team released by the Afghan media was not selected with his consent.

As a result, the player has announced that he will be stepping down from captaincy. However, He has stated that it is a pride to represent Afghanistan.
Rashid Khan has been the face of Afghan Cricket in the past few years. Rashid is an outstanding all-rounder and an effective leg-break bowler. He has claimed 89 wickets in 48 T20Is with an average of 12.6.
Rashid, who is the world’s top-ranked bowler in the T20s, was named Afghanistan captain for the T20 World Cup in July, and his deputy Najibullah Zadran was included in the 18-member squad. Meanwhile, Rashid’s decision has come after Australia threatened to cancel the test match between the two nations yesterday.
