Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has unveiled Mo Bobat as the Director of Cricket in preparation for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

Mo Bobat, who has served the England Cricket Board (ECB) for 12 years and held the position of Performance Director since 2019, is set to take on a pivotal role with RCB. His significant contributions have been instrumental in shaping England’s innovative cricket approach, resulting in their dominance in international cricket, including T20I and ODI World Cup victories, along with captivating Ashes performances.

Bobat reunites with RCB’s head coach, Andy Flower, with whom he has previously collaborated during their time with the England team. Together, they aim to usher in a new era of success for RCB.

As a 40-year-old leader, Bobat was responsible for identifying, nurturing, and preparing a vast pool of cricket talent in England across various formats. In his new role with RCB, he will oversee talent recruitment, performance strategies, and endeavors to establish a culture of excellence and high performance for sustained success.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Bobat stated, “I’m thrilled and honored to join RCB as Director of Cricket. I would like to acknowledge the contributions of both Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar for their steadfastness and consistency in recent years.”

Regarding Bobat’s appointment, Prathmesh Mishra, Chief Commercial Officer at Diageo India and Chairman of RCB, commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Mo Bobat as the Director of Cricket for RCB in the IPL.
