The winning goal came from Antonio Rudiger’s header off a corner by Luka Modric in the 78th minute. Despite facing a well-organized opponent, Madrid struggled to break through.
Mallorca had their chances too, hitting the woodwork several times in the first half. However, Real Madrid also came close with Brahim’s header hitting the crossbar.

As the game progressed, Real Madrid dominated the field and Rudiger’s header brought relief to their fans at Santiago Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, Girona had an impressive 4-3 victory at home against Atletico Madrid. Initially, Girona took the lead with an early goal from Valery Fernandez, but Atletico equalized with a goal from Alvaro Morata.

Girona took control again with goals from Savio and Daley Blind, but Morata’s efforts saw Atletico level the score at 3-3. However, Ivan Martin secured the win for Girona in injury time.
In other matches, Celta Vigo won 2-1 against Betis with a late 96th-minute goal from Williot Swedberg. Granada also secured a 2-0 win against Cadiz, who had a player sent off.
Additionally, earlier in the week, Real Sociedad drew 1-1 against Alaves, Rayo Vallecano won 2-0 against Getafe, and Valencia had a 3-1 victory over Villarreal.
Upcoming matches include Sevilla vs. Athletic Bilbao, Osasuna vs. Almeria, and FC Barcelona playing away to Las Palmas, where a win is crucial for them to stay in the title race with Real Madrid and Girona.
