Red Bull Racing has finally decided to up its game after an almost disappointing season. We all know if Max Verstappen weren’t Red Bull’s driver, they wouldn’t even have scored a single point. Earlier this month, Helmut Marko confirmed that Verstappen will have to continue without major upgrades. But it looks like they’ve changed their minds.

The team is set to unveil a significant set of upgrades for its RB21 at the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix 2025, marking the team’s final major development before its focus shifts to an all-new 2026 F1 regulations.

Red Bull’s senior advisor, Helmut Marko, told the media, “We’re getting an update for Austria, which will then be further refined for Silverstone. But if that doesn’t work, things will get difficult in the world championship. And it’s not as if things aren’t difficult enough already.”

He explained the importance of the next two races, as they’ll be extremely important for the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen, to gain points for a possible fifth championship title. He said, “Max Verstappen has won here four times; the track suits him. We’re currently three-tenths behind McLaren, but within a much smaller working window, which makes it even more difficult. So it’s not impossible to make up those three tenths. But if so, it has to happen now.”

With McLaren continuing its dominance on the grid, Ferrari is also bringing upgrades to Austria to compete with the Papaya duo.
