Red Bull’s driverLiam Lawson has had a tough 2025 season as he became a focal point due to his disappointing performances in the F1 2025 season. Two races have concluded so far, where he finished in the last positions in both the sprint and the main race. In the recent Chinese GP that concluded on 23 March, he finished last in the qualifying for both races and ultimately crossed the finish line in 15th place, a position which only improved to the 12th place due to the disqualification of drivers ahead of him.
His performance has raised concerns about his ability to adapt to the demanding RB21 car, which is notoriously popular for posing difficulties for drivers. Team principal Christian Horner has acknowledged the crisis and said, ” I think Liam’s had a tough couple of races, a tough weekend here. We elected to take him off the grid out of Parc Ferme to do a significant set-up change and so we’ve managed to get 56 laps of reasonable data from that, Obviously, we’ll take that away, we’ll have a good look at it, and, as a group, we’ll do our best to support him.”
“Liam is obviously confidence-wise struggling with the car at the moment, which is why we made some significant changes to see if we could find a more confidence-inspiring set-up for him,” he added

Liam Lawson addressed the issue and said, “We are two races in and we are racing. You would love to have 60 test days. I know a lot of the other guys tested a lot outside of the season. Unfortunately, it’s not something we did but there’s nothing we can do. It’s just one of those things. It’s not an excuse, just something I have to get on top of.”
Red Bull To Replace Liam Lawson With Yuki Tsunoda?
The situation escalated due to the ongoing speculations of Yuki Tsunoda possibly replacing Liam Lawson with reports stating that there have been discussions about evaluating Lawson’s performance very carefully. While there hasn’t been an official confirmation on Yuki Tsunoda replacing Liam Lawson, the uncertainty is compounded by Red Bull’s history of rapidly changing drivers.

Yuki Tsunoda is a strong candidate to replace Liam and he has expressed his feelings about the same, saying, ” Yeah, why not? Always. In Japan? Yeah, 100%. I mean, the car is faster.”
Whether or not Liam Lawson’s career with the Red Bull ends, we are here to keep you updated, so stay tuned.
