Usually the big boys in football have established their supremacy all over the leagues and European tournaments. If they don’t win it, the closest rival goes on to win it. Football was going on a single track but this season has been an anomaly in every sense. The Premier league has become an interesting example of this.

The emergence of mid-table clubs into the top 7-8 positions has meant that the Top 6 has become a myth now. Manchester United and Tottenham reeling at the 16th and 17th position, respectively, has been the reality of this season. Let us see how some teams made it into this Hall of Fame.
Tottenham win their first trophy in 17 years- Tottenham is the latest team to be added in this conversation. Bottlers and chokers jokes no more, they have now secured the Europa league trophy this season.

Even though they are 17th position in the PL Table just one position above the relegation zone but will still play the Champions League due to automatic qualification. Tottenham have defied the odds and now won a major European title after defeating Manchester United.
Harry Kane wins first trophy of his career- Harry Kane, the former Tottenham striker, will be equally happy with Tottenham win but he has added an accolade of his own as he won Bundesliga title this year with Bayern Munich.

Last year he left Tottenham in search of a title, but failed to win the Bundesliga last term as Bayer Leverkusen went on loss-less run but this year he finally got his hands on the first title as a player.
Newcastle win first trophy in 70 years- You just can’t write it in the stars. Newcastle defeated Liverpool, current PL title holders in a thrilling 2-1 match at the Wembley Stadium.

Newcastle are also running for the Champions league qualification for the next season as they sit currently in the 4th position. Eddie Howe has been the main man behind this Newcastle resurrection. Isak is leading striker of the team and has had a amazing season with the magpies.
Bologna won their first trophy in 51 years- Bologna ended a 51-year wait for a major trophy on Wednesday after winning the Coppa Italia (Italian Cup) with a 1-0 victory over AC Milan.

Last year, under Thiago Motta, everyone thought that it was the best season of Bologna in the modern era but this season under Vincenzo Italiano they have maintained the levels if not improved and most importantly have won their first trophy in 51 years.
Crystal Palace won their first major trophy ever- There is something about City going trophyless this season but this is about Crystal Palace and the Glasner Job.

Glasner has been a revelation this season for Palace as since his appointment, he has brought them higher on the PL table as they were nearing the relegation zone but are now comfortably away from it. But the biggest achievement would be winning their 1st major trophy, The FA Cup. Thanks to Eze’s goal, they defeated Manchester City and comfortably made it home.
Some of these stories have been inspirational and this might be an anomaly season or might be a start to a new chapter in world football. Only time can tell.
