Dhruv Jurel to Step Up as Wicketkeeper

With Rishabh Pant out, Dhruv Jurel will be India’s first-choice wicketkeeper-batter for the two Tests against the Roston Chase-led West Indies side. It will be interesting to see who backs him up.

Narayan Jagadeesan from Tamil Nadu, who was added to India’s squad for the fifth Test against England as Pant’s replacement, could be in contention again. Jagadeesan, a right-handed batter who has played IPL cricket for KKR and CSK, has impressed recently with scores of 197 and 52 not out in the Duleep Trophy 2025 semifinal for South Zone, and 64 in the first innings against Australia A in the unofficial Test for India A in Lucknow.
