India legend lost their first match of the tournament against England Legend by just 6 runs. The last-over thriller went into the hand of England because of the bowling performance by RJ Sidebottom. Irfan Pathan and Manpreet Gony tried their best but couldn’t bring the result of the match in the team’s favor.

England put up 188 runs on the board while batting first with the help of their Skipper, Kevin  Pietersen’s knock of 75 runs in just 37 balls. The Pathan brothers picked 5 wickets together and helped their team to strike back against England. Munaf Patel also dismissed two English batsmen.

While chasing the target of 189 runs, India lost their openers Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag very soon. Mohd. Kaif also got dismissed very early. Irfan Pathan who played the unbeaten knock of 61 runs in just 34 balls and the cameo of Manpreet Gony gave India some hopes at the end of the match. India required 8 runs in the last two balls but Gony couldn’t make it. However, Gony scored 35 runs in 16 balls with 4 sixes and remain not out.
