India is delivering an impressive performance in ongoing India Vs Zimbabwe series. They have clinched the three-match ODI series with two wins. With major players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli missing out, many young names have made part of the squad. While Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan have been in the playing 11 for both matches, others like Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rahul Tripathi are still warming up the bench.
And now, CSK batter Robin Uthappa has opined that with the series already conquered, these young guns should now be in the 11. Ruturaj Gaikwad has accompanied the team for quite some time. He’s been in the squad for the home series against South Africa and the away series with West Indies also. However, he’s yet to get a chance in the ODI playing 11. And Rahul Tripathi with his sparkling performance in the IPL earned a spot. But similarly, he’s yet to receive a chance to express himself.

Speaking about the same, Robin Uthappa suggested why it’s only logical to finally give them the much-awaited opportunity. “As far as batting is concerned, I don’t know if they will make too many changes. Shahbaz may get a game, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rahul Tripathi have been waiting in the wings for a while,” he said.
Asserting his point, he further explained, “It will be unfair if they don’t get a game and it will also be unfair to the youngsters who are playing right now, for example, Shubman Gill, who is in such great form,” he said.
“Ishan Kishan has got one innings to bat, so if he gets replaced and somebody else comes in instead of them, they would feel undone as well, because when the senior pros do come back into the side, they are going to miss out anyway. So, it’s a hard one to pick, to be very honest,” Uthappa added.
Moreover, with Avesh Khan also waiting, Uthappa mentioned him. And also talked about Deepak Chahar making another appearance after resting for the second ODI. “Definitely, I think Chahar will come back into the frame, I think Avesh Khan will get a game and Prasidh might get a break. Maybe Siraj could also get a break, Shardul would play, I think. They have anyway decided to rotate the fast bowlers so that everyone remains fresh,” he said.
