In another superb accomplishment in a brilliant career, Rohit Sharma on May 1 became the first MI player to score 6000 runs for the franchise. Rohit achieved this feat during the IPL 2025 match against RR on May 1 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
The historic moment came in the first innings of MI’s game against RR. Rohit, opening the innings, crossed the 6,000-run mark in his 231st appearance for the franchise, which includes performances from both the IPL and the Champions League T20 (CLT20).
Rohit Sharma moved past 6000 runs scored in one IPL franchise with this milestone and cemented his name as the all-time best batter for Mumbai Indians while also becoming only the second player in IPL history to score 6,000+ runs with one IPL franchise, next to Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

After doing so, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya took it forward with an explosive 94-run partnership, with both players making 48 runs off 23 balls, while MI posted their highest score.
By this outing, the Mumbai Indians installed themselves in the IPL 2025 points scenario, looking very healthy in third place with six wins from ten games. The revival of Rohit with this innings will surely be a more than welcome addition as the Mumbai Indians move towards the playoffs.
