Rohit was well supported by Suryakumar Yadav, who also played a powerful knock of 68 not out from just 30 balls. Together, they built a strong 114-run partnership that came in only 9 overs.

Their batting made it look like an easy chase. Mumbai needed 177 to win, and the two senior batters did it smoothly. The crowd at Wankhede loved every moment and cheered loudly as boundaries kept coming.

Rohit’s Special Shots and Stats

Rohit’s innings had 4 fours and 6 sixes, which is the joint-highest number of sixes he has hit in a single IPL match. His footwork, timing, and shot selection were perfect just like in his golden days. This was also his highest score in IPL 2025 so far.

CSK’s Effort with the Bat Fell Short

Earlier in the match, Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first. CSK ended with 176/5 on the board.

Shivam Dube scored a steady 50 from 32 balls, while Ravindra Jadeja added 53 not out from 35 balls. Young debutant Ayush Mhatre also played a quickfire knock of 32 off 15 balls, showing his potential.

But MI’s bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah who took 2 wickets for 25 runs, kept the CSK total under control. Their tight bowling in the final overs helped MI stay on top.
