Roman Reigns made a powerful return to Monday Night RAW and instantly shifted the entire Survivor Series: WarGames 2025 storyline. His comeback happened moments after Brock Lesnar shocked the crowd at Madison Square Garden. Instead of staying neutral or siding with the heels, Reigns stepped straight into the fight and took down both the Vision members and The Beast.

His actions made one thing clear. Roman Reigns is standing with CM Punk and the babyface team for WarGames.

Here are three simple reasons why he made that choice.

3. Backing Up The Usos

Jey and Jimmy Uso joined Team CM Punk before Roman even showed up. Despite all the family tension in the past year, the Usos are still a major part of Reigns’ story.

The cousins have had a rocky path, especially after Jey accidentally cost Roman his match against Bronson Reed at Crown Jewel 2025. Even with that mistake hanging over them, Reigns may feel the need to protect his own. Joining Team Punk means standing beside Jimmy and Jey when the fight gets serious.

This could be Roman’s way of getting the family back on the same page.

2. Getting Payback on The Vision

Bronson Reed defeated Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel. That loss didn’t sit well with The Only Tribal Chief, and the Vision played a major role in that outcome.

Reigns isn’t the type to shrug off a defeat. WarGames gives him the perfect opportunity to strike back at the entire faction in one match. Team Punk and Team Vision already have high stakes, and Roman’s own desire for revenge fits the story perfectly.

Joining Team Punk allows him to go after Reed, Logan Paul, Breakker, and the rest of the group in the most destructive match of the year.

1. Returning a Favor to CM Punk

Last year at Survivor Series, CM Punk fought on Team OG Bloodline against Solo Sikoa’s group. Punk was a key reason Roman and his side walked out with the win.

Punk later reminded Paul Heyman that he expected a favor returned someday.

Roman joining Team Punk may be that moment.

With CM Punk needing strong allies for WarGames, Reigns stepping up makes sense. It quietly closes the loop on a storyline that started a year ago and shows why their alliance is bigger than people realize.
