Ronaldo and men lift second trophy of the season as they beat Atalanta 2-1 in the Coppa Italia final

Juventus faced Atalanta in the Coppa Italia final in hope of a win. Pirlo and company have already lost Serie A to Inter and are highly unlikely to secure a Champions League spot in the league table. So winning Coppa Italia mattered a lot for the Black and Whites.

Juventus started with a 4-4-2 formation. Cristiano Ronaldo and Kulusevski played up top for The Old Lady. Atalanta played a 3-4-2-1 with Zapata as a sole striker. Malinovskyi and Pessina played behind the Colombian.

Game kicked off with Juventus pushing forward in to the Atalanta’s half. The Zebras created a lot of chances until Kulusevski scored a beautiful finesse shot in the 31st minute. Juventus 1-0 Atalanta. Juventus lead though didn’t last long as Malinovskyi scored a banger of a shot from the box to make the score 1-1 in 41st minute.

In the 72nd minute Juventus build up the play from a free kick in their own half.  Chiesa played a wonderful one-two with Kulusevski and thrashed the ball in to the near post net. Juventus 2-1 Atalanta. The beautiful team play was gifted with a perfect result. Juventus won the Coppa Italia on Pirlo’s 42nd birthday.

Ronaldo and Company lift their second trophy of the season and Atalanta will have to try again in the coming years. Juventus won their 14th Coppa Italia, Atalanta on the other hand have never won the prestigious trophy.
