Rory Mcllroy etched his name into golf history by winning the Masters Tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club. The victory not only marked his first Masters title but also completed his career in Grand Slam, making him the sixth golfer to achieve this milestone. He began the final round with a two-shot lead but found himself in trouble with a double bogey on the first hole.
Despite facing early challenges, he regained his control with his back-to-back birdies around the turn, only to see his four-shot lead destroyed over the closing six holes. A bogey on the final hole is what marked his comeback and held him to create history with a final-round 66. In the playoffs, he redeemed himself with a stunning shot, securing a birdie and the win. The victory marked the end of the 11-year quest for Rory Mcllroy, as he had previously come close to the title but never managed to win.
He joins an elite group of golfers, including Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods, by completing his career Grand Slam. He also became the first golfer since Tiger Woods in 2000 to achieve this prestigious milestone. This was an emotional experience for him, as he shared, “There were points in my career where I didn’t know if I would have this nice garment over my shoulders. But I didn’t make it easy today. I certainly didn’t make it easy. I was nervous.”

Justin Rose suffered a narrow loss as he finished in second place, but he showed his true spirit of sportsmanship as he praised Rory Mcllroy for this historic win.
