RP Singh’s father Mr. Shiv Prasad Singh Passes away due to COVID-19

Former Indian Pacer RP Singh took to twitter and shared the sad news of his father’s demise due to COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Former Indian pacer RP Singh’s father Mr. Shiv Prasad Singh succumbed to COVID-19 on the 12th of May. The Indian cricketer took to social media and informed about his father’s demise on Wednesday.

RP Singh wrote on Twitter “It is with deepest grief and sadness we inform the passing away of my father, Mr. Shiv Prasad Singh. He left for his heavenly abode on 12th May after suffering from Covid. We request you to keep my beloved father in your thoughts and prayers. RIP Papa.”

Notably, RP Singh was a member of 2007’s world cup winning T20 team. He has represented India in14 Tests, 58 one-day matches, and 10 T20  International matches. He announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 32. After his retirement, he is usually seen doing commentary.

Previously Former Cricketer Piyush Chawla had also lost his father who passed away due to COVID-19. Not only this young uncapped left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya’s father also succumbed to COVID-19.

It is to be noted that India is facing a catastrophic wave of COVID-19. India is reporting almost more than 3 million cases and over 3 thousand deaths per day.
