RR vs MI, IPL 2025: Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi set an unwanted record in the Indian Premier League (IPL). After scoring a century in his last match, he got out for a duck (zero runs) in his next innings.
This happened during the ongoing IPL 2025 match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, opening for Rajasthan Royals, was out for a two-ball duck in the first over, dismissed by Deepak Chahar.
Chahar bowled a full delivery, and Suryavanshi mistimed a big shot to mid-on, where Will Jacks took a clean catch.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi looked frustrated after getting out, standing with his hands on his hips. Just a few days earlier, he had scored a brilliant 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans at the same ground, leading his team to a big win.
In that game, he smashed the second-fastest century in IPL history, beating Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball ton. But now, he has joined Pathan on the list of players who scored a duck in their next innings after a century, becoming the 7th player in IPL history to do so.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi will now be looking to bounce back in the next match. The 14-year-old has shown a lot of talent in the tournament and will hope to finish the season well. It’s still unclear if he’ll get a chance in the upcoming game.
