Miller came in at number four and played a knock electrifying in nature, wherein he scored 82 runs coming off just 40 deliveries with a remarkable strike rate of 205. There was a masterclass going on in aggressive batting that was witnessed when he himself smashed eight towering sixes and several boundaries.

The South African innings did not have a great start, the top order crumbling for a mere 28 runs in 3.4 overs. Miller, however, upon coming to the crease, turned the game and took it on with a few explosive shots. The defining moment of Miller’s innings in SA vs PAK happened in the 10th over, where he belted Pakistan’s young left-arm spinner, Abrar Ahmed, mercilessly. Miller hit three consecutive sixes off Ahmed’s over, putting so much pressure on the Pakistani team, who were just getting warmed up.

The team decided to send David Miller, who has been with the Gujarat Titans for the last three years, back home. Before the mega auction, the team took this decision. During the auction, Lucknow Super Giants brought him into their team by bidding for seven times the price he was valued for. The base price of Miller was Rs 1.5 crore. Lucknow had added him to their team by bidding Rs 7.50 crore.

Regarding overall performance, Miller has played a total of 130 matches in the last 12 seasons of IPL, scoring almost three thousand runs in one century and 12 half-centuries.
