Less than three weeks after ending their nearly seven-year marriage, badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap have surprised everyone by announcing that they’re giving their relationship another shot.

Saina Nehwal shared the heartwarming update on Instagram, posting a photo of the two of them at a beautiful outdoor location.
“Sometimes distance teaches you the value of presence. Here we are – trying again,” she wrote in the caption, hinting at a fresh start for one of Indian badminton’s most well-known couples.
Saina and Kashyap tied the knot on December 14, 2018. Just last month, fans were stunned when the couple announced their separation after more than six years of marriage.
“Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways. We’re choosing peace, growth, and healing for ourselves and each other. I am grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time,” Nehwal had said on Instagram.

Saina Nehwal: Breaking Barriers in Indian Badminton
Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap both started their badminton journeys at the Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad, rising through the ranks together.
Saina Nehwal has long been seen as a trailblazer for Indian badminton. She made history by winning a bronze medal at the Olympics and becoming the first Indian woman to reach the world No. 1 ranking – a record she still holds. She was honored with the Arjuna Award in 2009 and the Khel Ratna in 2010 for her achievements.

Parupalli Kashyap’s Journey to Glory
Parupalli Kashyap also made his mark in Indian badminton. He became a well-known name after winning gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, following up on his bronze medal from the 2010 edition. He made history at the 2012 London Olympics by becoming the first Indian male shuttler to reach the quarterfinals.
Together, they’ve not only shared a personal bond but have also played key roles in shaping Indian badminton’s modern era. Their story, filled with both sporting achievements and personal milestones, now seems to have a hopeful new chapter.
