In the post-match interview, Sanju Samson opened up on where they lost, attributing two prime reasons: RR’s woeful death bowling and losing momentum at vital moments. He identified his dismissal in the 13th over as the game-changer in particular.
“About 15-20 runs short in the bowling. Every time we wanted to take the momentum ahead we lost wickets. When Hetmyer and I were batting it was still chaseable, but my dismissal turned the game,” said Samson.
He added further that even though the surface was good to bat, Rajasthan did not implement their chase perfectly and needed to analyze their death-over strategies in the team meeting.
