Indian Fans Lash Out at Sanju Samson After Another Cheap Dismissal in Second T20I: Indian fans were left disappointed once again as Sanju Samson failed to deliver with the bat during the second T20I against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday, October 31. Samson came in to bat at No. 3 after Shubman Gill’s early dismissal for 5 off Josh Hazlewood, but his stay at the crease was short-lived.

Another Missed Opportunity for Sanju Samson

The Indian wicketkeeper-batter couldn’t make the most of his chance against Australia. Standing deep in his crease, Samson tried to flick a full delivery but missed as the ball swung back sharply and hit him on the back leg. It was a brilliant in-swinger from Nathan Ellis, and ball-tracking later confirmed that it was crashing into the leg stump. Samson was given out LBW for just 2 runs off 4 balls.

His dismissal didn’t go down well with fans, who took to social media to question his spot in the T20I lineup. Some even went as far as suggesting that he should consider stepping away from the format.

Nathan Ellis Continues to Trouble Sanju Samson

This isn’t the first time Nathan Ellis has got the better of Sanju Samson. The Australian pacer once again exposed Samson’s weakness, continuing his dominance in their head-to-head battles.

In just three T20 innings, Sanju Samson has faced Ellis 13 times, scoring only 12 runs and being dismissed on all three occasions. It’s a pattern the Indian batter will be desperate to break in the coming games.

Recent Form Raises Concerns

Sanju Samson didn’t get a chance to bat in the rain-hit first match of the five-game T20I series in Canberra. However, his recent stats don’t make for great reading. After his half-century against Oman in the Asia Cup 2025, Sanju Samson has struggled to find consistency.

In his last six innings, his scores read 2, 24, 39, and 13, with two innings where he didn’t get to bat. Over his last 15 T20Is, he’s recorded six single-digit scores. His IPL 2025 campaign wasn’t much better either – the Rajasthan Royals captain managed only 285 runs in nine matches.

India in Trouble Early in the Chase

While Sanju Samson’s form remains a concern, India’s batting lineup also had a rough outing in the second T20I. The Men in Blue lost half their side for just 49 runs inside eight overs. Tilak Varma fell for a duck, and captain Suryakumar Yadav, who had shone in Canberra, managed only 1 run this time.

Axar Patel was run out for seven, while Shubman Gill and Sanju Samson couldn’t stay long at the crease. Abhishek Sharma (36*) provided some resistance with boundaries, but India needed a big partnership to stabilize their innings after a disastrous start. Interestingly, Harshit Rana was promoted ahead of Shivam Dube in the batting order, a move that surprised many fans.

With the series heating up, both Sanju Samson and India will be hoping for a much stronger performance in the remaining matches.
