SBC Summit Americas 2026: Across Latin America, betting operators are dealing with a wave of regulatory changes. Higher taxes, stricter compliance rules, and growing pressure on how markets operate are reshaping the industry. As countries rethink their legal frameworks, businesses are being pushed to adapt quickly to stay competitive.

Latin America Regulation and Compliance Track Headlines SBC Summit Americas

On Wednesday, 10 June 2026, Stage Five of  SBC Summit Americas will host the Latin America Regulation & Compliance track. The sessions will bring together operators, regulators, and legal professionals to talk through the biggest challenges and opportunities currently shaping the region’s betting ecosystem.

Attendees can expect detailed discussions on tax increases affecting operators in Brazil and Colombia, Chile’s progress toward regulation, Argentina’s efforts to build a balanced and secure market, and the main drivers behind the growth of iGaming in Mexico.

“Latin America’s regulatory landscape is evolving rapidly, and operators need to understand not just the rules, but the reasoning behind them,” said Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC. “This track brings together the voices shaping these frameworks to help stakeholders navigate complexity and identify where opportunity and compliance intersect.”

Brazil Tax Increase Takes Centre Stage

The track will begin with a session titled Don’t kill the little guy: The implications of Brazil GGR rise. Industry leaders including Angelo Alberoni (Partner & COO, A2FBR), William Bonalume (COO, Open Gaming), Frederico Caputti (Managing Director, Brazil Office, Altenar), Iuri R. Castro (Project and Process Management Lead, Caixa), and Marcos Sabiá (CEO, Galerabet) will explore how rising costs could affect smaller operators. The discussion will also examine whether new rules could push local companies toward acquisition by larger international firms and what that means for the future of Brazil’s betting market.

Colombia’s Emergency Tax Sparks Industry Debate

Another key session, IVAmos bien! The implications of Colombia’s emergency tax, will look closely at the introduction of a new 19% Value Added Tax on online gambling deposits. Speakers Evert Montero Cardenas (President, Fecoljuegos) and Iliana Pineda (Chief Compliance Officer, Wplay) will discuss how the new tax is impacting operator revenue and raising concerns about players moving toward illegal platforms.

Argentina’s PR Challenges and Market Sustainability

The panel Navigating the PR Labyrinth: Managing Publicity in Argentina’s iGaming Market will focus on how operators can build trust while facing stronger public scrutiny. Agustín Li Gambi (Director General de Asuntos Jurídicos, Instituto Provincial de Juegos de Azar de Neuquén), Ezequiel Alejandro Domínguez (Director, LOTBA), and Santiago Gandara (CMO, BetWarrior) will talk about potential advertising restrictions and ways to create a stable and responsible market.

Chile and Mexico Also Under the Spotlight

Additional sessions include Is Chile on the Cusp, which will analyse the country’s possible transition into a regulated market, and Unlocking Growth in Mexican iGaming: Strategies for Revenue and Player Acquisition, which will explore how regulation, player behaviour, and commercial strategy are driving expansion in Mexico.
