The SEA Games 2025 is scheduled to take place from 9 to 20 December 2025 across the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, as well as Chonburi province in Thailand.
The joint bid from the three provinces was awarded the Games on 13 January 2023, after Thailand was confirmed as the host country by the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF). This marks the first time that host cities were selected through a new bidding and election process for the SEA Games.
The SEA Games 2025will be the seventh time Thailand has hosted the event, with Bangkok having previously hosted 4 times (1959, 1967, 1975, and 1985) and will be one of the two host cities this time along Chonburi. The other two Thai cities who hosted the games are: Chiang Mai hosted the 1995 edition and Nakhon Ratchasima hosted the 2007 edition.
The original co-host Songkhla province was supposed to host some events, until floods caused by Cyclone Senyar struck shortly prior to the Games, which resulted in all events that were to be held in Songkhla to be relocated to venues in Bangkok and Chonburi.
The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has announced the updated schedule for the 33rd SEA Games.
The opening ceremony will take place on 9 December 2025 at Rajamangala National Stadium, with the closing ceremony on 20 December 2025, also at Rajamangala.
