The 23-year-old Coetzee, with a total of 20 wickets in the tournament has established a new record for the highest number of wickets taken by a South African in a single World Cup. His impressive speed and ability to generate bounce made him the leading wicket-taker among pacers during the middle overs. Coetzee secured 15 wickets at an economy rate of 6.16 in this phase, a performance to be greater than only by leg-spinner Adam Zampa. Furthermore, a couple of notable innings towards the end of the matches demonstrated that Coetzee is also a capable batsman.

His excellent performance especially with the new ball, was a positive highlight, taking nine wickets at a rate of 5.13 runs per over in the first PowerPlay. Although his best bowling figures (five for 80) were against India, Madushanka turned heads with his three for 48 against Australia, showing his skill to trouble batsmen with both swing and movement off the pitch. Teams in the Indian Premier League, where left-arm pacers are often sought after, might be interested in the 23-year-old for adding diversity to their pace options.
