The Indian cricket U19 squad has been in news recently being the winning side, but some of the players in the team still need to wait as there are chances that some players in the team won’t be able to participate or be a part of the Indian Premier League and they still need to wait for a year. Only those players who earlier have played at least one first-class match or List A game can be a part of the auction and IPL respectively.
However, BCCI has still not declared its final decision yet but still, the regulation would impact players like India’s under-19 vice-captain Dinesh Bana, batsman Shaik Rasheed, left-arm bowler Ravi Kumar, all-rounders Nishant Sindhu and Siddarth Yadav, and openers Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Manav Parakh, and Garv Sangwan. Players including Rasheed, Bana, Kumar, and Sindhu had a significant role in India’s successful campaign in the Caribbean. Veteran BCCI administrator Ratnakar Shetty mentioned in the interview that he feels unfortunate that the players can’t be a part of IPL as for last one year there was no single game played because of COVID19 and the BCCI should try to consider it as a special case and allow the players to participate in IPL 2022.
