Ansha, the daughter of former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, and star bowler Shaheen Afridi were wed in a lavish ceremony on Friday in Karachi.

Star pacer Shaheen Afridi married former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi’s daughter, Ansha, in a lavish wedding in Karachi on Friday. Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, and other players were present to commemorate the event. Interestingly, Shaheen proposed to Ansha last year. Lahore Qalandars of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) posted images from Shaheen’s wedding ceremony on Twitter. In addition to Babar, other notable attendees included Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Sarfaraz Khan.

Shaheen can be heard telling the cleric conducting his marriage, “Qabool Hai, Qabool Hai,” in a video posted by Lahore Qalandars.

Shaheen, who sustained a knee injury during the T20 World Cup final last year, was spotted working out in the nets on the day of his wedding to get back in shape for the PSL 8 tournament.

The 22-year-old recently opened up about his time in rehabilitation, when he was on the verge of giving up cricket but persisted by watching his own old recordings.

“Occasionally, I considered giving up. I was only training on one muscle, and it was not getting stronger. I used to tell myself repeatedly during the therapy sessions, “This is enough; I can’t do this any longer.” But after seeing how well I had performed while watching my bowling on YouTube, I became inspired and pushed myself to “push a bit harder” A fast bowler missing cricket due to an injury is disappointing “on YouTube, Shaheen stated.

Shaheen-led Lahore Qalandars will play Multan Sultans on February 13 to begin off the eighth PSL season.

Shaheen was instrumental in helping Lahore Qalandars win their first PSL championship last season, contributing both with the ball and the bat.
