  • Shane was a talented junior Australian Rules football player. He played for the St Kilda Football Club’s under-19 team during the cricket off-season in 1987 and 1988.
  • He was suspended from international cricket for a year in 2003 after it was discovered that he had used a diuretic that his mother had provided him with so that he could appear thinner.
  • Elizabeth Hurley, a model and actress, was one of his high-profile exes.
