Indian cricket team are currently playing against West Indies in the first ODI at Queen’s Park Oval cricket ground. Shikhar Dhawan who is the captain of the Indian team for this ODI series. The skipper has made a new record in this first ODI against West Indies as he scored 97 runs in 99 balls.

The captain (Shikhar Dhawan) just missed out on his century but became an oldest Indian captain to score fifty in men’s ODIs. Shikhar Dhawan was amazing in this match as he hit 10 boundaries and 3 sixes before he was dismissed by West Indies’ bowler Motie. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan made a great partnership with his new opening partner named Shubman Gill who also scored 64 runs in just 53 balls.

Both this batters had a 100+ run partnership in the first ODI against West Indies. Despite having a great start in the match, India could only score 308 runs. West Indies’ bowlers were brilliant in the second half of the first innings as they took some quick wickets to restrict Indian team at 308/7. West Indies need 309 runs to win the first ODI. There are not first team Indian pacers in the team for this match as Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been given rest for this series.
