International cricket teams that are Full Members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well as the top four Associate members compete in One Day International (ODI) matches. Contrary to Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs) only last one inning per team and have a cap of 50 overs per inning (although in the past, it was 55 or 60 overs). As a subset of List, A cricket, ODI matches have their own records and statistics, which are kept separately from List A records.
List of Matches
USA vs Nepal – 72 balls
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2, 2020, included this game at Kirtipur. After winning the toss, Nepal decided to field first. For just 35 runs in 12 overs, the USA team was destroyed. With only 16 runs to his credit, opener Xavier Marshall led the team in run production. The bowler of choice and game’s Man of the Match, Sandeep Lamichhane, claimed six wickets for just 16 runs in six overs. With eight wickets in hand, Nepal took just 5.2 overs to reach the target. A quick 12-ball 20 from Paras Khadka brought the match to a close.
Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan – 83 balls
The fifth ODI of Afghanistan’s tour of Zimbabwe took place in Harare, where Zimbabwe’s unwanted record was set. At 2-2, the series was tied, and this game served as the crucial deciding factor. The toss was won by Afghanistan, who decided to bat first. In 50 overs, they amassed 253/9. Rahmat Shah, the Player of the Match, led the team in scoring with a strong 50 off 79 balls. Mohd Nabi and Noor Ali Zadran gave him solid support. As a result, no Zimbabwean batsman could lead the team in the chase, as captain Cremer only scored 14 runs while batting at position eight. Nabi and Hamza each took three wickets, dismissing Zimbabwe for 54 runs, and Afghanistan won by a score of 106 runs.
Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka – 94 balls
The 2001 Triangular Series match took place in Colombo. Having won the toss, Sri Lanka decided to bat first. The best bowling statistics by a bowler in a 50-over match will always be associated with this game. Zimbabwe was dismissed for just 38 runs by Chaminda Vaas, who was named Man of the Match. With nine wickets remaining, they took it down in just 4.2 overs.

New records have been set in this area as well, though, thanks to some outstanding bowling efforts. For the bowling team, they are achievements to be proud of, but for the batting team, they are still nightmares. In this article, we discuss the five shortest ODI innings ever played.
