Shrikant Jadhav has announced his retirement from Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). He has decided to hang his boots following the conclusion of the 12th edition of the league.
Notably, Jadhav did not feature in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 as he went unsold in the auction. His could be because his performance had been underwhelming in the past few seasons. Therefore, teams did not bid for him during the auction.
Shrikant Jadhav’s journey in PKL
Shrikant Jadhav played for four teams in the Pro Kabaddi League- Bengal Warriors, U Mumba, UP Yoddhas, and Jaipur Pink Panthers- before going unsold in the Season 12 auction, which effectively ended his PKL career.
He began his PKL journey with Bengal Warriors in Seasons 3 and 4 but got limited opportunities, playing only five matches each season and scoring 10 and 7 raid points respectively. His got his breakthrough in Season 5 with U Mumba where he delivered 86 raid points along with 12 tackle points.
Jadhav reached his peak with UP Yoddhas in Seasons 6 and 7, scoring 141 and 148 raid points, becoming one of the team’s main raiders. During Season 8, he sustained injuries which hampered his performance, but he still managed 92 raid points.
He returned to Bengal Warriors in Season 9, contributing 123 raid points as a supporting raider. His form declined in Season 10 with just 74 raid points. His final stint came with the Jaipur Pink Panthers in Season 11, where he scored only 11 raid points in 6 matches.
With performances dipping over the last few seasons, he went unsold before Season 12, marking the end of his PKL journey.
