There’s been some exciting movement in the latest Test rankings.

Shubman Gill Climbs to Career-Best Sixth in Test Batting
India’s captain Shubman Gill has jumped 15 spots to reach a career-best 6th place among Test batters. His incredible performance against England at Edgbaston, where he scored 269 and 161, helped India secure a big win. It was also his first victory as Test captain. Gill is now just 79 rating points behind Harry Brook. Only Joe Root (2nd), Kane Williamson (3rd), Yashasvi Jaiswal (4th), and Steve Smith (5th) are ahead of him.
England’s wicketkeeper Jamie Smith has also made headlines. He climbed 16 places to break into the top 10 Test batters after scoring an unbeaten 184 and another 88 in the second Test against India. It was a truly standout performance.

Wiaan Mulder’s Marathon Knock Lifts Him Up the Rankings
South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder had a big moment too. He hit an unbeaten 367* against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, which helped him jump 34 spots to 22nd among Test batters. Although he had a chance to beat Brian Lara’s record for the highest individual Test score, Mulder chose to declare South Africa’s innings at 626 for 5. His all-round display earned him a 12-spot rise to 3rd in the Test all-rounder rankings.
India’s Ravindra Jadeja still holds a strong lead at the top of the all-rounder list. Jasprit Bumrah remains the number one Test bowler, even though he missed the recent win over England to manage his workload. Fellow Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj moved up six places to 22nd after a good showing. West Indies players Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph also made progress, each climbing six spots to 29th and 31st respectively.
In ODIs, Sri Lanka’s 2-1 home series win over Bangladesh brought some changes to the rankings. Captain Charith Asalanka moved up two places to 6th in the ODI batter rankings, right behind top-ranked Shubman Gill. Kusal Mendis, who was named Player of the Series, rose 10 places to 10th. Wanindu Hasaranga also impressed, jumping 11 spots to 8th among ODI bowlers after taking nine wickets in the series.
