Indian cricket team are currently playing the 5th and the last rescheduled Test match against England at Edgbaston. As skipper Rohit Sharma tested positive for COVID-19 and KL Rahul had his surgery in Germany, Shubman Gill was given a chance to bat in the opening for India. Shubman was departed early by a star English pacer named James Anderson.

Shubman Gill had a bad shot selection and threw his wicket away in the first session itself. Former Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri didn’t like the approach from Shubman Gill and he wasn’t impressed with the shot he played.

“Yeah, he (Shubman Gill) will be mighty disappointed. When he is set, he makes runs come. Everything before this, there was the intent. There was no intent here. It was just a tentative poke outside the off-stump. A nothing shot. He will be very disappointed with this because he had done a little bit of the hard work,” said Ravi Shastri on Shubman Gill during the game between India and England on Friday via Sony Sports Network.

Shubman Gill scored 17 runs in 24 balls but was caught on slips by Zak Crawley after he got a clear nick on his bat.
