The ISSF World Cup 2025 is ongoing, and it’s a premier annual shooting competition in Olympic shooting events featuring multiple stages across different disciplines. Some of the events have already been concluded, and the Indian shooter, Sift Kaur Kamra, stood out in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions event. The 23-year-old champion delivered a stunning comeback performance to secure India’s first gold medal at the ISSF World Cup 2025.
She has been a consistent performer since the beginning of the event, as she took the lead at the qualification level with an impressive score of 590, surpassing several Olympic medallists, including Chiara Leone and Nina Christen.
In the finals, she started in eighth position but regained her momentum in the prone round and proved her excellence in the standing position. She finally finished with a total score of 458.6 points, defeating Anita Mangold of Germany and Arina Altukhova of Kazakhstan. The victory marked Sift Kaur’s first individual gold medal at the ISSF World Cup. The win also helped India climb up to the second place in the medal tally, standing just below China, which secured one gold and one silver while India claimed one gold and one bronze yet.

The bronze medal for India was grabbed by Chain Singh in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event, which marked India’s first ever medal at the ISSF World Cup 2024. He finished with a score of 443.7 points, standing behind Tian Jiaming of China and Istvan Peni of Hungary.
Two-time Olympic bronze medalist Manu Bhaker will look for a win and improve her position in the women’s 25m pistol precision round, which will be held on Saturday.
