India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana continues to reign supreme at the top of the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings, cementing her position as the world’s best after a stellar run in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. With a sparkling 109 against New Zealand and a composed 34 not out against Bangladesh, Mandhana not only led India from the front but also climbed to a career-best rating of 828 points.
The World No.1 batter now holds an impressive lead of nearly 100 points over her closest challenger, Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner, who sits second with 731 points. Gardner made a big leap, jumping six spots after her unbeaten century against England earlier in the tournament.
Smriti Mandhana, who was recently named ICC Women’s Player of the Month for September 2025, has been the standout performer of the World Cup so far. With 365 runs in seven innings, including one century and two fifties, she is also the tournament’s top scorer. Her consistency and calm presence at the crease have made her one of the biggest talking points of the competition.

Smriti Mandhana’s Opening Partner and Other Movers in the Rankings
Smriti Mandhana’s opening partner Pratika Rawal, who unfortunately has been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup due to injury, also saw a big jump in her rankings. After her memorable century against New Zealand, Rawal moved up 12 places to 27th with a career-high rating of 564.
Among other notable changes, South African captain Laura Wolvaardt climbed two spots to third after scores of 90 and 31 in her recent games. England wicketkeeper Amy Jones continued her good form with an unbeaten 86 against New Zealand, pushing her up four spots to ninth (656). Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues also made progress, jumping eight places to 19th after a string of consistent performances.
Ecclestone Still on Top, King Closes In
In the bowlers’ rankings, England’s Sophie Ecclestone remains at No.1 with 747 points, but she now has serious competition from Australia’s Alana King, who has jumped five places to second with a career-best rating of 698 after a seven-wicket haul against South Africa. King’s rise pushed teammate Ashleigh Gardner down to third (689).
For India, Renuka Singh Thakur and Kranti Gaud made notable progress in the bowling charts. Renuka climbed seven spots to 19th, while Kranti also rose seven places to joint 25th, highlighting the growing strength of India’s bowling attack.
All-Rounders: Gardner Still Leads, Kapp Moves to Second
In the all-rounders’ list, Ashleigh Gardner continues to hold the No.1 position with a rating of 503, but South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp has moved up to second (422), overtaking Hayley Matthews of the West Indies. Australia’s Annabel Sutherland, despite her strong showing with both bat and ball, dropped to fourth.
The Battle for World Cup Glory Heats Up
With the ICC Women’s World Cup now entering its knockout stage, the top four teams – Australia, England, South Africa, and India – are set to clash for the ultimate prize. As India’s star batter continues her exceptional form, all eyes will be on Smriti Mandhana, whose calm dominance and elegant stroke play have not only kept her at the top of the rankings but have also won the admiration of cricket fans around the world.
