The Smriti Mandhana Wedding has been postponed following the sudden deterioration in the health of the Indian cricketer’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, over the weekend.

He was admitted to a hospital in Sangli Smriti’s hometown on Sunday, November 23, the same day the wedding with the musician-filmmaker Palaash Muchhal was scheduled originally. He was discharged on Monday morning after his condition had improved significantly.

Angiography Clear; Family Relieved as Condition Stabilises

According to reports published by India TV, doctors have confirmed that Shrinivas Mandhana’s condition is now completely stable and no more in danger. An angiography was performed as part of the evaluation. No obstruction was noted. His recovery brought major relief to the Mandhana family.

Due to the sudden medical emergency, Smriti Mandhana’s wedding plans have been indefinitely called off. No comments have come from either family on a new date or future plans.

How the Medical Scare Unfolded

Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, explained that the health episode came suddenly while Shrinivas Mandhana was having breakfast.

He shared:

“In the morning, when Smriti’s father was having breakfast, his health deteriorated. We initially thought he would recover, but when it worsened we called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. He is under observation.”

Mishra added that Smriti, being very attached to her father, immediately decided to postpone all wedding festivities until he is fully recovered. This emotional priority has contributed to the delay in setting a new date for the Smriti Mandhana Wedding.

Palaash Muchhal Also Hospitalised Briefly

Smriti’s fiancé Palaash Muchhal was quickly admitted to the hospital as well in a series of unfortunate events that shortly followed. Reportedly, Palaash suffered from viral infection and intense acidity likely caused from the stress of the whole ordeal. Fortunately, soon after his condition had stabilised and he was released from hospital.

What’s Next for the Couple?

At this time, there has been a postponement for Smriti Mandhana’s wedding; both families are centered on health and recovery. Once Shrinivas and Palaash have fully recovered, updates regarding the date of the wedding will be provided.
