WTC 2025 Final: Temba Bavuma will lead South Africa’s 15-player squad for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 Final against Australia in June, according to the ICC website. The squad has been boosted by the return of fast bowler Lungi Ngidi, who missed the home summer matches due to a groin injury. Ngidi has now fully recovered and has played white-ball cricket for South Africa in 2025, along with appearing in global T20 leagues.

Temba Bavuma will lead South Africa in their first-ever WTC 2025 Final, starting on June 11 at Lord’s.

The top-order batting will be handled by Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, and Aiden Markram, while the middle order will feature rising star Tristan Stubbs, David Bedingham, and Bavuma.

Kyle Verreynne will be behind the stumps, and all-rounders Wiaan Mulder and Marco Jansen will contribute with both bat and ball.

Mulder and Jansen will join top fast bowlers Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Dane Paterson, and Corbin Bosch in the pace attack. Keshav Maharaj will lead the spin department alongside Senuran Muthusamy.

South Africa Unveils Squad For WTC Final Against Australia

South Africa has mostly stuck with their core players, making only two changes from the squad that faced Pakistan. Youngster Kwena Maphaka misses out for Ngidi’s return, and top-order batter Matthew Breetzke is also dropped.

South Africa finished top of the league stage with 69.44 points percentage. They were dominant at home, winning series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka and drawing with India. They also had strong away performances, with victories over the West Indies and Bangladesh. Their only loss came in New Zealand, where several key players were missing.

With eight wins and one draw out of 12 matches, South Africa secured their spot in the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
