To try out this co-op mode, you need to download the mod created by fans. The mod is currently available on the modder’s Patreon page for $10. Once you buy it, you’ll also get access to their official Discord server, where detailed installation instructions are shared.
The good news is that a free version of the mod is expected later, but for now, early access requires a small payment.
Steps to Play with Friends
Here’s how you can start swinging with your squad:
- Create a Lobby: From the home menu, set up a multiplayer lobby.
- Invite Friends: Send invites through Steam or share your IP address.
- Join Together: Up to 16 players can join a single lobby.
- Start Exploring: Once everyone is inside, you can roam NYC, fight bad guys, or try co-op challenges.
Both Steam and Epic Games Store versions of Spider-Man Remastered work with this mod, so no matter where you bought the game, you can play with your friends.
What You Can Do in Co-Op Mode
- Free Roam New York City: Swing across skyscrapers side by side.
- Fight Enemies Together: Join hands in combat and stealth missions.
- Clear Hideouts: Take on gangs and challenges as a team.
- Show Off Suits: Some custom Spider-Man suits are supported, which means if your friend has the same suit mod, you’ll both see it in-game.
The main story campaign and side quests are not fully optimized for multiplayer. You can still enter them, but there may be bugs, lags, or occasional crashes.

This multiplayer project started back in August 2024 and is still in its early phase. Since it’s a fan-made creation, expect a few glitches while playing. However, many players believe it’s only going to improve with time, making Spider-Man Remastered even more enjoyable.
