SRH vs LSG, IPL 2025: In the 7th match of IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), led by Pat Cummins, will be playing against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), led by Rishabh Pant. The SRH vs. LSG match in IPL 2025 is being held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad, on Thursday, March 27.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are coming into this IPL match after a fantastic 44-run win over Rajasthan Royals, while Lucknow Super Giants are entering the game following a close loss to Delhi Capitals.
The last time these two teams met in IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad dominated Lucknow Super Giants, securing a huge 10-wicket victory with 62 balls to spare.
The last match between SRH and LSG led to a heated discussion between LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka and captain KL Rahul, resulting in Rahul leaving the franchise. In the auction, LSG spent INR 27 crore on new captain Rishabh Pant.
Only two LSG bowlers from that game, Ravi Bishnoi and Ayush Badoni, will play on Thursday, with an injury-hit pace attack making things harder for them.
SRH’s Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, and Ishan Kishan will aim to improve SRH’s head-to-head record against LSG, which currently stands at 3-1 in LSG’s favor.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant said that his team plans to bowl out SRH early and then chase down whatever target they are given.“We will bowl first. I think we got to get them out early and look to chase the target. It depends on the team combination, that’s why we want to bowl first. We have the batting to chase it down. The only change is Avesh comes back, Shahbaz misses out. We gonna chase whatever they score, doesn’t matter.”
SRH captain Pat Cummins expressed hope that his team will be able to post a big score on the board.
“It doesn’t change the way our boys go about it, we always try to be positive. It’s great fun. You know what you are signing up for coming into this tournament. Even going for 10 or 11 runs in an over, that can be match winning on somedays. We want to win games as a team and do well as a bowling unit. Hopefully we score big. We are playing with the same team like the other day.”
