Sunil Gavaskar has expressed disappointment with the negative tone and language used by the Australian media and ex-cricketers regarding the pitches used in the India-Australia Test series. He accused some of the comments made of being in poor taste and lacking professionalism. While it is normal for teams and media outlets to express their opinions on playing surfaces, it is important to do so with respect and objectivity. The quality of the pitches should be evaluated objectively without any undue bias or prejudice.

“Steve Smith has admitted that he likes playing and leading the team in India because every delivery is a challenge and every over can bring about unexpected changes. The noise coming from some of the former players has been a little unsettling, but the current Australian players have remained silent. Given that India and Australia have had a friendship for 75 years, some former Australian players were restrained from using language that might be considered impolite “Gavaskar spoke to the media.

Gavaskar also brought up the fact that both teams played on the same field and that different players from each team received favours at various times. The first two matches were completely controlled by India, but Australia made a strong comeback in Indore with the help of Matt Kuhnemann and Nathan Lyon.

“Both had the exact same pitch. Play the game and accept that you won’t get the same pitches when you travel abroad, but avoid using words like “skulduggery” or casting doubt on the Indians’ morality. Let’s be clear: no nation can claim to be the only one with integrity and honesty. I’m an incredibly proud Indian. When someone questions me or Indians, I will say what I think “Added he.
