SuperGaming, one of India’s top game development studios, has just wrapped up a massive win with a $15 million (around ₹131 crore) Series B funding round that puts the company’s value at $100 million.

The round was led by Skycatcher and Steadview Capital, with big names like a16z Speedrun, Bandai Namco 021 Fund, and Neowiz joining in. It also brought in support from well-known Web3 investors including Polygon Ventures. Returning backers such as Skycatcher, AET Japan, and BACE Capital doubled down on their belief in SuperGaming’s vision and track record.

This new raise comes after SuperGaming’s $5.5 million Series A round in October 2021, showing steady growth and investor confidence.

Strong Investor Backing for a Bigger Vision

The Series B round was oversubscribed with strong participation from existing investors, a clear sign that the market believes in SuperGaming’s technology-first approach and its plans for both traditional gaming and Web3.

India is quickly becoming a major hub for game development, creative IP, and gaming infrastructure, and SuperGaming is riding that wave. The studio has earned international praise for Indus Battle Royale, which won Google Play’s “Best Made in India” award in 2024, along with several other hit titles.

Natsuhiro Maruyama from Bandai Namco 021 Fund said:

“Our investment in SuperGaming pairs Bandai Namco’s global IP expertise with the team’s deep understanding of India’s gaming ecosystem, opening the door to growth in India and beyond. We also view SuperPlatform, an infrastructure that accelerates the creation of large scale, community-driven multiplayer games, as an additional strength that enriches the experiences SuperGaming already brings to players.”

Ed Fries, General Partner at 1UpFund and Co-Creator of Microsoft Game Studios, added:

“In a market crowded with demos and pitch decks, SuperGaming has done what few others can, they have shipped. Launching a game, especially one as ambitious as Indus, is no small feat. It shows execution, resilience, and deep player understanding in a hyperlocal market like India. We’re backing SuperGaming not just for what they’re building, but because they’re already delivering and that’s what makes all the difference.”

Going Global with Indus and SuperPlatform

The fresh funding will help take Indus Battle Royale to new global markets, starting with Latin America in partnership with LOUD.GG, a hotspot for mobile gaming and esports. It will also be used to grow SuperGaming’s development team, create more original IPs, and strengthen publisher partnerships.

Skycatcher’s Founder and Fund Manager, Sia Kamalie, said:

“We led SuperGaming’s Series A round in 2021 and are now leaning into our original thesis with a recent financing round. Our thesis is straight forward, India is the fastest growing gaming market globally and from that will emerge the next global giants in gaming. Our first round was about scaling development capabilities and this round is now about scaling global and unique hyper local publishing approaches. I’m excited about the multiple product launches the team has planned for Latin America and Middle East this year.”

Much of the funding will go into expanding SuperPlatform, SuperGaming’s cloud-based SaaS technology built in partnership with Google Cloud. This platform gives developers everything they need to create and manage large-scale, real-time multiplayer games, even for lower-end devices in emerging markets. It also includes AI-assisted development tools, monetization features, analytics, and social systems to support live-service games.

Polygon Ventures’ Co-Founder Sandeep Nailwal shared:

“I’ve always dreamed of seeing a world-class gaming studio emerge from India, and if anyone can make that a reality, I believe it’s SuperGaming. Their momentum speaks volumes about the team’s passion and drive. But what excites me is how they understand the stakes: in gaming, the experience is the product, and the global bar for quality is incredibly high. I’m thrilled to be part of this journey and can’t wait to see them take their Battle Royale game Indus to the world.”

Building for the Future and the Metaverse:

SuperGaming is also pushing forward with its proprietary Indus Engine and SuperPlatform, which power its games and player engagement tools. CEO and Co-Founder Roby John summed it up:

“We are at an inflection point where India’s role in gaming evolves from a consumer market to a driving force in innovation, and this investment fuels that transition. ‘Indus Battle Royale’ is just our beginning. It is a showcase of quality and scale that we can achieve. But our deeper mission is to empower the gaming ecosystem through SuperPlatform. We’re providing developers worldwide with the tech backbone to bring their most ambitious visions to life, including seamless integration of Web3.”

The company has been exploring Web3 gaming for years, starting with Tower Conquest: Metaverse Edition, a free-to-earn title on Polygon that gave players true digital asset ownership.

Now, SuperGaming is partnering with B3 GameChain, a Layer-3 blockchain built on Base, Ethereum’s Layer-2 network incubated by Coinbase, to offer both Web2 and Web3 experiences. Popular game Silly Royale is already live on their own Layer 3 Superchain powered by B3, bringing asset continuity, interoperable progression, and real digital ownership without sacrificing fun gameplay.
