On October 22, England will face Afghanistan at the Perth Stadium to kick up their 2022 T20 World Cup campaign. England will play one warm-up game against Pakistan before the T20 World Cup on October 17.
England was placed in Group 1 with teams like Afghanistan, Australia, and New Zealand. In the first round, they will also compete against Group A’s winning squad and Group B’s runner-up.
Due to a lower back ailment, Sam Curran, who was initially a member of the team, was disqualified from the World Cup. Reece Topley was named to the reserves for the World Cup, and his brother Tom Curran took his spot in the squad. Due to an elbow injury, Jofra Archer will not be available to England. Despite being a member of the Ashes team, Ben Stokes has chosen not to participate in the T20 World Cup. Due to injuries, Topley and James Vince have replaced Jason Roy and Tymal Mills in the starting XV.
