The 36th Match of the 2021 T20 World Cup was a New Zealand vs Namibia encounter played on Friday, 05 November 2021 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, United Arab Emirates.

1st Innings – New Zealand puts 163 Runs on the board
New Zealand lost two wickets early on, of both openers Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell. With that, New Zealand was at 43/2 in 6.2 overs.
Then Namibia’s Captain Gerhard Erasmus provided a breakthrough as he picked an important wicket, bowling out his counterpart Kane Williamson. Black Caps were 81/3 (12.1 overs).
After that, a good fielding effort by Gerhard Erasmus to run out Devon Conway and they were 87/4 in 13.6 overs.
In the end, Glenn Phillips’s 39* (off 21 balls) and James Neesham’s 35* (off 23 balls) made sure New Zealand’s innings finished at 163/4 (20 overs).
2nd Innings – Namibia’s Target is 164 Runs
After the powerplay, Namibia were 36/0. However, just after that, they lost three quick wickets of Michael van Lingen, Stephan Baard and Captain Gerhard Erasmus. With that, Namibia ended up at 55/3 in 9.2 overs.
But then David Wiese got dismissed due to an LBW decision, as Tim Southee picked his wicket. Namibia were 86/4 (14.3 overs).
In the end, during the death overs, 3 wickets fall in quick succession of Zane Green, Nicol Loftie-Eaton and Craig Williams. With that, Namibia were 105/7 in 18.5 overs. Namibia finished their innings at 111/7 (20 overs).
As a result, New Zealand won the match by 52 Runs. Hence, the Player of the Match was given to all-rounder James Neesham for his performance of – 1/6 & 35* (off 23 balls).
