The 31st Match of the 2021 T20 World Cup was a Pakistan vs Namibia encounter played on Tuesday, 02 November 2021 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

This encounter is from Group 2 of the Super 12 round at the ongoing 2021 T20 World Cup.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat.

Pakistan won against Namibia by 45 Runs

1st Innings – Pakistan puts 189 Runs on the board

A great start for Pakistan, as they have a 100+ Runs opening partnership between Mohammad Rizwan & Babar Azam.

However, the fine innings of Babar Azam come to an end, as he departs scoring 70 Runs (off 49 balls) as David Wiese provides the breakthrough for Namibia. With that, Pakistan was 113/1 (14.2 overs).

Another wicket falls, an excellent catch by wicket-keeper Zane Green to dismiss Fakhar Zaman. Pakistan was at 122/2 (15.4 overs).

Then, Mohammad Rizwan’s 79* (off 50 balls) and Mohammad Hafeez’s 32* (off 16 balls) made sure Pakistan finished their innings at 189/2 (20 overs).

2nd Innings – Namibia’s Target is 190 Runs

Meanwhile, an early setback for Namibia as Michael van Lingen was bowled out by Hasan Ali. Namibia was 8/1 (1.3 overs). Then after the powerplay, they were 34/1.

But, another dismissal as Stephan Baard 29 (off 29 balls) is run out. With that, Namibia was at 55/2 in 8.4 overs.

Then two quick wickets fall, as Captain Gerhard Erasmus and Craig Williams 40 (off 37 balls) got dismissed. After that, Namibia was 93/4 in 13.6 overs.

Another dismissal in form of JJ Smit, they were 110/5 (16.5 overs). However, David Wiese remained unbeaten on 43 (off 31 balls) couldn’t guide his team to victory. Namibia finished their innings at 144/5 (20 overs).

As a result, Pakistan won the match by 45 Runs. Hence, the Player of the Match was awarded to Mohammad Rizwan for his knock of 79* (off 50 balls).
