The Ireland team, so far, was successful enough in achieving three of their last 13 T20Is. However, because of their loss to teams like Namibia and Sri Lanka in 2021’s T20 World Cup, they couldn’t make it to the Top 12 at the T20 World Cup of 2022. Moreover, they were defeated by Zimbabwe at their first qualifier battle, held on 17th of October. But this time with 15 players the team is expected to showcase their extraordinary skills.

According to reports, the team will be led by Andrew Balbirnie, the captain along with the all-rounder Paul Stirling by his side. Both   of them are experienced players and are believed to set a tough competition for other countries. Besides them, the team also comprises bowlers like George Dockrell, Craig Young and many more. The team was further made up of plenty of stunning performers.

Team of West Indies

However, the team of West Indies though being known as ‘two times champion’ couldn’t make it to Top 12 this time, as a result of their recent poor performance. Also, the West Indies team lost to Scotland by 42 runs at their face off round, which took place on 17th of October.

The team, as stated will be composed of 15 cricketers with most of them having years of experience. Nicholas Pooran will be leading the team. Among those 15 players, they have batsmen like Evin Lewis, who is often considered as a ‘World Cup specialist.’ Other specialist batsmen include Rovman Powell, and Shimron Hetmyer, who has served at West Indies squad for more than five years, also considered as the leaders of next generation, while another player Brandon King is relatively new and moving up the ranks. Out of those, the team also possesses brilliant bowling, wicket-keeping and all-rounder options.

Previous Records of T20 World Cup Matches Between the Two

According to reports, the West Indies have faced Ireland in 7 T20 matches. And, among those matches, West Indies have managed to achieve 3 victories. On the other hand, Ireland had registered victories. And the remaining 2 matches have been reported to end without a result.

Predicted Assumptions

Well, talking about the previous records and performances West Indies is considered to have more experience. Whereas Ireland is comparatively a team with less experience. As West Indies were successful enough in achieving the title before and is as well expected to retain their form in order to make it to Top 12.

But Ireland is equally expected to set a tough competition for the West Indies with stunning players by their side. As both of them couldn’t register a victory till now at the qualifier rounds. And, as a result both are expected to bounce back after this disappointment.
