Pycroft was given the position of coach of the Zimbabwe A side in March of 2006, and he remained in that job until August 2008. In March 2009, Pycroft was invited to join the ICC’s Elite Panel of Match Referees.
In May 2009, England and the West Indies played at Lord’s for Pycroft’s first Test as a referee. In the same month, he played his first ODI in Bristol. In September 2009, he worked on his first T20I in Colombo, between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
Pycroft has officiated 123 ODIs and 49 T20Is, including games at the 2011 and 2016 ICC Cricket World Cups.
