David Boon was a brash, right-handed batter who represented both his state and country with great distinction throughout his time playing cricket. David Boon’s Cricket Career
Boon had a career total of 7422 runs in Tests for Australia at an average of 43.65, including 21 centuries and 99 catches. He finished his career as Australia’s fifth-most-capped player and as the fifth player in the country’s history to score the fifth-most runs. Between the years 1984/85 and 1995/96, he participated in a total of 107 test matches, making him the only other Australian after Allan Border to play 100 test matches.
David Boon As a Referee
In 2011, Boon became a member of the ICC Match Referee Panel by officiating his maiden One-Day International match, which took place at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo and featured Zimbabwe and Pakistan. Since then, Boon has served as a referee at the ICC World Cups in 2015 and 2019, as well as 2014, 2016 and 2021 ICC T20 World Cup.
